TO MEET IN SEMI-FINALS

Bid For Second State
Title

       Semi-finals of the 1931 Class A race of the Texas Interscholastic Football League are slated this week with Abilene and Greenville meeting at Abilene Friday afternoon and Beaumont and Corsicana playing at Beaumont Saturday.  This will result in the final game being played the latter part of Christmas week, probably Saturday after the holiday, which falls on Friday this year.
       Marlin fans are following the race with keen interest with Dewey Mayhew, Abilene coach and former Bulldog mentor, making a strong bid for his second state championship.  He went to the finals in 1927 and won the state championship in 1928 with his Abilene team.
