ODD FELLOWSHIP PRAISED
AT COUNTYWIDE MEETING

Entertaining Program Presented and
Officers Named at Marlin
Session.

"The words that men utter, the deed that they do, whether good or bad, lives on and on after them, their influence spreading until it reaches the everlasting shores of eternity," declared Congressman O. H. Cross
in an address featuring the meeting of the Falls County I. O. O. F.-Rebekah Association in the Marlin Odd Fellows hall Thursday night.
"Every Odd Fellow should so live and conduct himself that when the long night comes and his comrades recall his name, their hearts will echo:  "Dead on the field of honor!"  We, affirm the principles of friendship, love and truth.  And the greatest of these is love.  It is the mother of all the virtues.  God is Love.  Odd Fellows should be pilgrims adn missionaries doing good things at every opportunity."
"Odd Fellowhip recognizes God as our Father and teaches me to recognize my fellowman as my brother,"  said Method Pazdral of West, who also delivered an address.  He is the father of Mrs. O. R. DeFord of Marlin.
"A good Odd Fellow ought to make the best church member in his community," Mr. Pazdral added, paying tribute to the benevolent and fraternity qualities of both the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah lodges.
The meeting opened with J. J. Foshea of Rosebud, president, in the chair.  Following the opening ode, Rev. O. W. Hooper of Marlin gave the invocation.  Dr. T. G. Glass of Marlin welcomed the visitors, L. W. Sample of Rosebud making an appropriate response.
Minutes of the last session were ready by A. T. Bienhauer of Rosebud, secretary, while the report of the treasurer, J. W. Henslee of Chilton, unable to attend, was made by Max Lebrecht of Marlin.  Reports on activities of lodges were made by A. T. Bienhauer of Rosebud, J. M. Ross of Marlin, and Mrs. Emma Evans of Marlin Rebekah lodge.  Grand lodge reports were made by Max Lebrecht of Marlin and L. W. Sample of Rosebud, who told of the endowment fund plan, while Miss Elizabeth Meyer of Marlin made a report on the Rebekah Assembly, closing with a request for donation for the president's fund used each year in some manner at the home, which met with a liberal response.
