FIGURES FOR OCTOBER

 

Fourteen Cows Returned Over Thirty Five
Dollars Above Cost of
Feed


Records kept by J. B. Davis of Chilton on his dairy herd in co-operation with the extension service of A. and M. College of Texas show 14 cows netted him $35.56 above feed cost during October, states Dan Clinton, Falls county farm agent.

They produced 4715 pounds of milk, or 254 8-10 pounds of fat valued at $67.54.  At 50 cents per head, pasturage cost was $7, 1816 pounds of hay at $6 per ton was fed, roughage cost being $9.88, and 2158 pounds of grain cost $15.10, making total feed expense $31.98.
