Commencement Exercises
Held by School at Cego.

Twelve Ninth Grade Graduates
Receive Diplomas During
Program.

    The Cego ninth grade graduated Friday night, May 15.  Wm. L. Baine of Waco gave the commencement address.
    Those graduating were Mildred Parham,  Bessie Pace,  James  Pace,  Lillie and Lydia Marstaller,  Ernest Huber,  Walter Sutter,  Naomi Conaway,  Emil Jaster,  Clara Huber,  Hazel Dodd,  Wilfred Feind.
    Walter Sutter was the salutatorian, and Bessie Pace was the valedictorian, Ernest Huber read the class wills and Wilfred Feind the class poem.
    Miss Tina Stewart presented the diplomas.  She also presented reading certificates to the pupils, who read and reported on fifteen library books.
    Those receiving such certificates were Ernest Huber,  L. L. Stewart,  Anna Huber,  Mildred Parham,  Verna Mae Clark,  Ben Ella Parham,  Calra Huber,  Hazel Dodd,  Lydia and Lillie Marstaller,  Bessie Pace,  Wilfred Feind,  Emil Jaster,  Walter Sutter,  Lucille Wheeler,  Naomi Conaway.
    Those receiving neither absent nor tardy awards were Raymond Sutter,  Mildred Parham,  B. R. Parham, Jr.,  Rillie Sue Parham, and Charlie Owen.
    Medals were given to the first winners in the Falls county meet.  Those receiving medals were Anna Huber,  and Ben Ella Parham, junior spellers; Bessie Pace,  and Hazel Dodd, senior spellers; Verna Mae Clark, essay writer; and Walter Sutter in senior declamations, who also won in the district and went to Austin.
    Ninth grade pupils staged the play, "That's One on Bill," Monday, May 18.  A large crowd attended.
    The seventh and eighth grades entertained the ninth grade with a party at the of Miss Tina Stewart Tuesday, May 19.  The hostess served cake and ice cream.  Everyone reported an enjoyable time.
