(The Riesel Rustler)

       Riesel's first bale of 1931 cotton crop was brought in Tuesday by Leo Courtade, who lives on Seven-mile lane, was ginned free of charge by Riesel Gin Co., and sold to Miller & Dean for seven cents per pound. Cash premium of $21.25 was awarded by the business men.  Bale weighed 430 pounds, brought $29.10, making a total of $50.35 besides the seed.
       The Trinity Bible Class will give its annual program next Thursday
evening, August 20, at eight o'clock at the Trinity school.
       Rev. E. A. Heckmann of Trinity Lutheran church and family are still enjoying their vacation to the fullest extent in Abilene.  They intend to be back fry the middle of next week.
       Rev. H. Studtmann, professor of Concordia College, Austin, will preach at Trinity church Sunday.

       Miss Louise Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Smith, 3437 Purdeau, Dallas, became the bride of Wallace Wheelis, son of Mrs. P. W. Wheelis of Mart, in a garden wedding Sunday evening at the of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Wilson, 5313, Worth street, Dallas.  Rev. Harrison Baker, pastor of Munger Place Methodist church, officiated.  Mr. and Mrs. Wheelis left for a wedding trip to South Texas, after which they will be at in Dallas.
       Lillie Bess Matthews, age 18 months, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. (Mike) Matthews, died at 5:30 a. m. Friday, August 7, at the residence of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Obe Adams, Mart, following a few days' illness.  Funeral was conducted at the Adams on South Smyth by Rev. J. F. Luker at 4:30 o'clock Friday afternoon with interment in the Mart cemetery.
       Tallies announced the engagement and the wedding date of Miss Helen Boehlert and Mr. Lee Harter a (sic) Monday, August 17, 1931, when Mis(s) Margaret Rielly entertained clos(e) friends of the bride to be with (a) bridge party at her home, 314 Nort(h) Pearl street, Wednesday afternoon.
