To The Democrat:
Pleasant Grove, May 13.--We have been blessed with plenty of rain in this part of the county; haven't had any hail to date, but we had considerable wind about Rosebud and west of Pond Creek.

Crops in this part of the county are very promising at present, if we can just have time now to work over the crops.  Corn  in the sandy land is extra good for this time of the year.  The Irish potato crop is reported a above an average.

George Roper of Rosebud came near being killed during the heavy wind and rainstorm.  He was coming from Burlington and the wind blew his buggy over.

       J. B. Butts and B. J. Patrick have had an independent telephone line put in from their residences to Rosebud.

A.S. Butts from the Pleasant Grove community was a Marlin visitor last week.

Walter Byers and Charley Childress were attending business in Marlin Friday.

       S. R. Butts from Marlin was down in these parts recently.

       J. B. Butts is doing some grading on the road from the lower new bridge to Rosebud.

B.J. Patrick preached at the grove Sunday from this subject, "The Unchangeableness of God."
