VICIOUS DOG AT LARGE IN TOWN.
-----
Attacked Child Who Was at Play
In Yard.
-----

Consternation was created Wed-morning on Coleman street by the spread of the report that a mad-dog had bitten a little girl, daughter of Mrs. W. E. Trumble, of Saratoga, who is a guest at the Dave Williams boarding house.
The child, with some other children, was playing in the yard when she was attacked by the large dog which is supposed to be infected with hydrophobia.
The child was badly bitten in the hand, the wounds being dessed immediately by a physician.  Her screams attracted the attention of the neighbors and for a time there was much excitement.  Some boys, armed with a six-shooter, chased the dog, but he finally escaped.
The actions of the dog were such as to cause a belief that he had the rabies and an attempt was made to kill the cur.  The dog belonging to Mr. Williams was bitten, and a watch will be placed on him in order to see if it becomes infected.
