STEEN IS STILL MISSING.

-----

Letter from Oklahoma Says He

Was Seen There.

Thad L. Steen, whose disappearance was reported in a previous issue of this paper, has not as yet been heard from.

He left Lott about three weeks ago saying that he was going to look up a location and his wife has heard nothing from him since.  He was seen in Fort Worth by an acquaintance who states that he left him saying that he was going home.

That was the last seen of Mr. Steen by anyone personally acquainted with him, so far as known here.  However, a letter has been received by R. B. Thigpen of Chilton from a negro who was raised by Mr. Thigpen's father, in which the writer say that he saw Mr. Steen in Okmulgee about ten days ago.  This negro formerly resided at Chilton and knows Mr. Steen quite well.

The negro did not know that Mr. Steen's whereabouts were a source of mystery to his family and friends and his mention of having seen him was merely incidental.

    S. M. Steen, brother of the missing man, returned today from Waco where he went in connection with the matter.  He says that Mrs. Steen has heard nothing further than above stated and is, of course, greatly distressed that she does not hear from Mr. Steen, but still hopes that nothing is wrong.
