To Secure Site for Three Dams.
-----

Waco, Texas, Sept. 10.--Mayor James B. Baker and two or three others will today go to Bryan to see about a site for a lock and a dam on the Brazos, and two other sites will be secured within a short time, one opposite Marlin and the other a short distance below Waco.  An effort will then be made at the meeting of congress, to secure an appropriation sufficient to construct these improvements and thus afford four months' navigation annually, filling in with two or three other locks and dams later, giving eight months' navigation annually.  There is great enthusiasm here on the subject and it is thought that the project to secure immediate navigation for four months, up to Waco, will succeed.
