The first day of the Falls County Fair closed at 10 o'clock Wednesday night and all were satisfied with the day.  There was no
kicking coming from anyone.  Everything was conducted to the complete satisfaction of all.  The visitors to the fair were likewise pleased, at least they said naught to the contrary.
The entries in the Wednesday races were printed in The Democrat of that day.  The entries for today will be found in this issue.

FIRST DAY WINNERS.

First Race--2:20 pace.  Hal Burton; time 1:07 1-4.
Second Race--2:20 trot.  Black Slipper, time 1:10.
Third Race--Quarter mile dash, Pleas Walters; time .24.
Fourth Race--Six Furloughs Run.  Lillian Ayers; time 1:18.

In the automobile race there but two entries: John Branson, "Red Devil," and Dr. W. R. Dupree, "Black Micawber."  Dupree won.  Time 6:38.
Howard Mann and Asa Warner of Waco were the judges, John Munroe starter for the harness races and Bill Sitterle of Victoria starter for the running races.  The starts were perfect and everybody was satisfied.
The six furlong race was one of the best ever seen on the local track.  Prince, Ridden by Bob Fullington, made the running all the way and was only beaten a head on the post by Lillian Ayers.
This horse was shipped from Denver and has won lots of races this year.
