Negro Arrested for Burglary.
-----

Constable Averiett of Rosebud brought to Marlin this morning and placed in jail Alexander Franklin, a young negro, who broke into a business house in that town Saturday night.  The negro stole many pieces of wearing apparel, some of which he had on at the time he was arrested.  Franklin has figured in the criminal record of this county a number (of) times, having been indicted three times for burglary, for one of which he served two years in the pen.
He has a method of forcing entrance into houses which is all his own.  He prefers using a plow point or some other crooked iron, and always leaves his tools at the place where he committed the burglary.  Constable Averiett had no trouble in locating his man after he had seen the instruments.  Franklin admits and wants to plead guilty at once.  Says he don't mind being sent up, provided he is sent to his old on the convict farm where he is well acquainted with the guards and convicts.
