MARLIN TEAM REDEEMS ITSELF.
-----
Plays to Even With Mart---Will
Play Third.
-----
The Marlin baseball team has redeemed itself from the inglorious defeat that it
met at Mart two weeks ago. The game was played Friday afternoon on the
Marlin diamond. From a professional standpoint the game was "nothing
extra," still it showed some good work for amateurs.
The team went into the game with a
determination of winning. The Mart boys put up some good work, but fell
several scores short in the final cast up, the score standing 9 to 5 against
them.
The visitors issued a challenge to the
local team for a third game and it was accepted.
A feature of the visit of the Mart people
was a ball given by Prof. Linebaugh at Bartlett park at night. This was
attended by a good crowd and the dance was indulged in for several hours.
