MARLIN MUNICIPAL MELANGE.

-----

The new city officials have been inducted into office in due form.  The only real new ones are City Attorney Jones and Alderman G.P. Reeves.  The other two, Aldermen Rush and Turner, were sworn in for another term of two years.  This was among the business for which the city council met Monday.

The council created a new committee to be known as the committee on public lights.  The committee will look after the public lights in the city.

A petition from the Ladies Social Club was presented requesting that the council provide an arc light near the hot well.  Referred.

Public improvement committee was instructed to place a fresh lot of gravel under the pavillon (sic) at the hot well.

Mayor Peterson and J. W. Spivey went to Austin Monday night to confer with the attorney general relative to the water bond issue which is being closed up.  As soon as the money is in the treasury contracts will be let for the new improvement.
