LOSES ARM IN ROUND BALE PRESS.
-----
Serious Accident at the Gin of Oltorf
& Emerson.
-----

Mr. Casady, the man in charge of the Reagan round bale press at the gin of Oltorf & Emerson, lost his right arm at 11:30 today by getting it caught in the press.
The arm was crushed to a pulp up to the elbow and amputation was necessary immediately.  The injured man was taken to the office of Dr. Allen where the arm was amputated.
Mr. Cassady and an assistant were putting in the bagging and he was leaning on the lever.  The lever moved and threw him toward the press, his arm being caught in that way.  Will Neumann was standing near and called to the engineer to shut down the machinery.  By the time it could be shut down the man's body had been drawn close to the press.
He came from Cuero and his family reside there yet.  He is resting as well as he can under the conditions.
