Joe Dawson to the Pen.
Joe Dawson, charged with a murerous assault upon his wife, and convicted of same
in the district court of Falls county, was taken in charge by the transfer agent
of the penitentiary and will do time for four years as recomence for his
crime.
Since the crime was committed, Joe and his wife have become thoroughly
reconciled, but this does not satisfy the state. They are negroes who
resided in Marlin and the assault upon the woman was most brutal.
