THE MARLIN DEMOCRAT

Eighteenth Year - Number 58

Marlin, Texas, Wednesday, December 11, 1907

-----

Former City Marshal Here.

-----

    W. H. Featherstone of Henrietta, Texas, is a visitor to Marlin and is accompanied by Mrs. Featherstone.

He was city marshal of Marlin, twenty-five years ago, and was for a time the sheriff of Falls county, under appointment of Judge L. C. Alexander, then district judge.

He left Marlin in 1883, but was here on a visit in 1893.  He, of course, finds a great change within that length of time, but still recognizes the town.

Lively times were often existant here in those days and it was no uncommon thing for the town to experience a visit from characters who would now be called rather tough.

Mr. Featherstone is now vice-president of one of the banks at Henrietta and is president of the bankers association for that district.
