Commission Johns reports the loss of a number of bridges in Precinct 7 during
the recent heavy rains.
S. J. Ward and Mrs. Sue M. Read have
purchased the Dr. J. C. Snead land near the city, comprising about 430 acres.
Miss Eleanor Knox, a young lady about
fourteen years of age, died suddenly at the of her mother, Mrs. John Knox of
Barclay, Monday morning about 8 o'clock.
Geo. W. Souther and Felix Glass have tried
the split log drag on about one and a half miles of road, and they consider it a
splendid success.
J. S. Halpain of this city, who has been in
Waco for medical treatment the past six weeks, died at the residence of his
sister, Mrs. M. E. Halpain, No. 521 South Sixth street, Monday night at 11:30
o'clock.
Geo. Growl has sold his 556 acre farm in
Milam county to B. F. Rountree of Rosebud; consideration, $25,000. In the
deal Mr. Growl becomes the owner of the handsome of Mr. Rountree on College
Heights, together with the adjoining farm of 52 acres.
A real estate deal of considerable
magnitude has been closed, whereby H. C. Connally and J. I. Hamilton of Moody,
Texas, became the owners of the Waters tract of land adjoining the city,
comprising about 754 acres, having purchased same from Mrs. J. D. McCord and J.
K. Freeman.
