DOG KILLER DEALS OUT DEATH
-----
Twelve Canines Known to Have Per-
ished---Some Valuable.
-----

The dog killer was out Tuesday night in Marlin and next morning twelve canines had cashed in.
Some of these were valuable dogs.  In fact, if we judge by the route taken by the distributor of the poisoned food, it seems quite evident that he was after the bird dogs in particular.
The valuable pointer owned by C.A.Oltorf was among the first to show signs of poisoning.  The others followed in quick succession, among them being Marshal Stallworth's bird dog, Judge Frazier's, Sheriff Poole's and G.G.Slater's.
A number of unknown and not highly valued curs and fice were killed, running the number up to a dozen, so far as can be learned at this time.
From their actions, it is believed that the party or parties who distributed the poison, used strychnine on meat....There is considerable indignation expressed at the indiscriminate distribution of poison.
