THE MARLIN DEMOCRAT
Eighteenth Year - Number 44
Marlin, Texas, Wednesday, October 23, 1907
-----
The Democrat's Latest.
-----

The Democrat takes some pride and pleasure in announcing that it has added to its already splendid equipment, one of the latest and best linotype machines put out by the Mergenthaler Linotype Company of Brooklyn, N. Y.
We have long desired to make this addition, but have hesitated on account of the considerable outlay of money involved.
We are, however, fully convinced that the great amount of work of which this machine is capable, and the further desire on our part to give our readers even a much better paper than ever, fully warrants the expenditure, which is in line with the progressive age in which we live.
Therefore, the machine is up and running beautifully.
We have formulated plans for an extensive improvement of this paper of which we will have more to say later.
Suffice to say, that there are very few towns of 5,000 population that can boast of a printing plant such as Marlin now has in The Democrat office.
Drop in and see the machine at work.  You will be welcome.
