Oliver failed to appear at the trial at Beaumont and his bonds have been
forfeited. His whereabouts are being sought. He
is charged with wrecking Groesbeck and Beaumont National Bank.

Alberto Carreao, the Mexican who murdered County Judge Stanley Welsch at Rio
Grande city after election last year, has been turned over to Capt. Ross of the
state rangers by the Mexican government.

A young woman of 18 was found in a dying condition in a railroad depot in St.
Petersburg. She confessed that she was selected to carry out an imperial
terroristic stunt, but her courage gave away and she took poison.

Ticket scalping business has been legalized by the city council of Fort Worth,
and those who wish to engage in same are required to pay to the city an annual
fee of $50.00. The railroad people may take the matter to the court.

Senor McAlve Normende, diplomat and member of the Mexican army, was robbed of
his suit case containing credentials from his government to Washington, jewelry
and $200 in Mexican money while on board the (missing) on the Iron Mountain road
near St. Louis.

Three long term convicts in the Nevada penitentiary at Carson made an
escape in a novel way. A wagon was sent to the (missing) with supplies.
In the meantime, the driver left the rig for a little whie, the convicts jumped
in the vehicle and drove off calmy to town like "trustees."

Silas Warren, a negro about 55 years of age, was found dead just outside of the
city limites of Bartlett, under a wire fence. It is supposed that in
attempting to get through the fence he fell, and not being able to get up, died
from the effects of the cold rains.

Dr. Livingstone Barnes, dentist of Dawson, Texas, was found at a late hour of
the night lying on the pavement in Dallas, bloody and groaning. The scene
revealed the existence of a bloody fight. After retaining consciousness the
wounded man refused to disclose the mystery surrounding the struggle. He
was shot in several places in the body.

In the trial of Mrs. Annie Bradley in Washington for the murder of former
Senator Brown of Utah, the woman was surprised to find herself surrounded by a
large number of friends from Utah, who came as witnesses in the case.
Before disposing of the case the court is trying to find evidence of her sanity
or insanity at the time of the killing.
