COUNTY SCHOOL NOTES.
(By A. W. E.)
-----

Eureka school is not behind in the good work of improvement.  The building has been repaired, new with windows put in and a new stove added.

-----

The good patrons of Shields Academy have thoroughly repaired their building, put in new doors and windows and made it quite comfortable and attractive.

-----

Miss Virge Peters is the teacher for this year and is doing excellent work.

-----

Travis has an especially strong faculty this year, consisting of Mr. D. E. McArthur, formerly of Robertson county, Mrs. Rhoda L. Davidson, and Miss Ellen Kemp.  The attendance is fair and the work good.  Mr. McArthur has a very interesting class in agriculture.  The experiments in the text are performed by the pupils and make the subject very attractive to all.

-----

Miss Emma Conner has an orderly hard working school at Dewey. Neatness and thoroughness seem to be the chief end of her works and she is meeting excellent results.

-----

Pleasant Grove has a splendid hard working school with Miss Gem Kirkpatrick in charge.  The house has been neatly repaired and made comfortable, and a profitable term is predicted.

-----

Miss Lena Biaislenz is doing her first work as a teacher at Powers Chapel.  They have a neat, comfortable room with an excellent selection of pictures on the walls and the order and work is equal to the best.

-----

Perhaps no people in the county take more pride in their school than the Busby district.  Their house has been carefully repaired and treated to a fresh coat of paint.  The trustees have just put in a bridge and are ditching the school yard so as to protect it from wahsing.
The school is ably presided over by Misses Maggie and Ruby Rouse.  These are excellent teachers and are giving a splendid school.  The order and work here is especially good.

-----

Union is also a progressive district.  They have repaired their building, and put in a partitition so as to make two comfortable rooms, and will have two teachers now instead of one.
Mr. J. A. Bufkin and Miss Myrtle Whitesides are in charge and profitable term is certain.  Mr. Bufkin has a large class in agriculture which is doing especially well.
