WAS A BIG DAY IN COUNTY COURT.
-----
Transgressors of Law Assessed Pen-
alties for Infractions.
-----

Monday was a big day in the criminal branch of the county court.

The offenders for the most part sized up the situation and forthwith plead quilty.  There was one case, however, that was stubbornly contested and its hearing occupied much of the day.  It was the case of A. B. McBride of Highbank, who was charged with carrying a pistol.  The contention of the defense was on his own premises when he had the gun.  The contention was vigorously assailed by the state and the jury coincided with the state's view of the case and assessed a fine of $100 against him.

When the work of the day's session was summed up, the following were the results:

       A. B. McBride, carrying a pistol, fined $100.

Tenie, A Mexican, gaming, plea of guilty, fined $10.

       E. A. Erwin, carrying a pistol, not guilty.

Jim Stuart, gaming, plea of guilty, finded $10.

Will Asher, carrying a pistol at a dance, fined $50.

Antony Carter, gaming, plea of guilty, fined $10.

Reuben Green, gaming, plea of guilty, fined $10.

Dave Cooper, gaming, plea of guilty, fined $10.

Ike Cole, gaming, plea of guilty, fined $10.

Richard Elligan, theft under $50, plea of guilty, fined $5 and one day in jail.
