Wednesday Social Club.
~~~~~
A Good Social Time With
Mrs. Bartlett
~~~~~

    The ladies social club met Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Mollie Bartlett.
    Not a great deal of business was before the club at this meeting and the members were given a royal time socially.
    Mrs. Chambers referred to the meeting of the District Women's Federated clubs in Marlin in April and she was appointed a committee of one to secure a hall in which to hold the meeting.
    A case needing charity was reported tot eh club and the committee was instructed to investigate and extend whatever aid was necessary.
    In a social way, the hostess planned and executed a pleasant surprise to the members of the club and the guests.  First was a contest in which the ladies were seated around a table, hat pins in hand, the lady who sucured the most peanuts on the pin to receive the prize, a pick and cracker.  The prize was secnred by Mrs. E. F. Kavanaugh, while the booby went to Mrs. Tom Turner.
    A second contest was arranged in which the lady who could put the most peanuts into a bottle was to have as a prize for her cleverness, a handsome vinegar bottle.  The prize was awarded to Mrs. L. P. Robertson.
    The following ladies were guests of the club at this meeting:
Mesdames Ramsley, S. R. Oltorf, Dupree, Gardner, Sam Peyton, Callie Peyton, J. A. Martin, Somervell, Branson, Finks, Turner, J. W. Bartlett, Heffner. Gardere, Richey of St. Louis, Kavanaugh of Orange, Norris of Houston.
