TROUBLE NEAR TIMPSON

Timpson, Texas, March 9. -
     In a shooting affray at Wraffley's mill, Dick Smith, a negro, shot Jim Lee, white. Lee will die.
     Richard Menefee, a negro, and Dick Smith shot H. C. Lee, father of Jim Lee.
     Sheriff Holland had under arrest the two negroes Wragley's. W. H. Lee shot the negro Dick Smith five times. Smith will die. A general riot occurred between the whites and blacks.
     Sheriff Holland wired the governor to send the Timpson military company out to assist him in keeping down the trouble.
     News from there today is that the troops are on duty and no further trouble is apprehended.
