WEDNESDAY SOCIAL CLUB.

The Wednesday afternoon social club held its weekly meeting wednesday (sic) afternoon with Mrs. Dr. L. P. Robertson.
The meeting was well attended and the members were very highly pleased with their entertainment.
The subjects before the club pertained to the street fair and merchants' carnival.  The ladies decided that each member would prepare a basket for the barbecue and picnic on Tuesday Sept. 16, confederate day, and ask all the other ladies to do likewise.  Everything possible will be done to make this one of the most pleasant days of the week.
The ladies decided at this meeting to employ a park keeper for the park if a suitable man could be found for that purpose.
The club also arranged for one member of the club to remain at the park every night as chaperone.
Refreshments consisting of punch, cakes, cream and ices were served by the hostess.
