IN SOCIETY'S REALM

News of the Week as Tersely Told by the
Society Editor---
(There are so many of these articles; in order to
type them and submit by email I am going to break them down into
separate articles under the above heading-lsc)

With this issue of our little daily we step out upon the social platform and make a timid bow asking your kind indulgence in many ways, for frailities in the work which we with doubts have under taken.  Our little city is extending her lines in so many directions--entering all the open gates--and imitating her big sister cities in numerous ways, and out stripping them all as health resort.  We ask why not a society corner?  We are entitled to a position on this stage of action, why not awaken and play our parts?  It has been said of us, that we are sleeping our days away--even dubbed "mossbacks."  Not so I enter a denial.  We have the ability, we have the energy, in fact all of the christian graces that give strength to cope with our "big sisters"--even if we are not so many.  With a united effort, our "little town of Marlin" will be placed in the front ranks of all things that are dear to a woman's heart.  The effect of which will be felt, even by the strangers that are within our gates.
