WEDNESDAY SOCIAL CLUB.

The weekly meetings of the Wednesday social club are always pleasant occasions. No club in this or any other city can justly claim more generous or more lovely entertainers than this club possesses. No member of the club is more richly imbued with the happy talent of making her guests have a good time than is Mrs. W. A. Patrick, who so charming entertained the club members yesterday evening,
The censor reported eleven members late in arriving and all were requested to pay fines for their tardiness.
The charity committee reported having done some work along the line of duty for which the committee was appointed.
The committee on the curfew law reported having urged up on the city council the passage of such a law. The members of this club are very much in favor of this regulation and we believe it meets the approval of every mother, sister and all others in our city who feel an interest in the young boys of Marlin. Can our honorable city council refuse the appeal the women of Marlin are making for this law?
Committee on Tom Thumb wedding reported arrangements of details. Time of the entertainment was set for June 14. A committee on decorating stage etc., was appointed.
Donations of Money by Mrs. Dupree and Mrs. Owens are very highly appreciated by the club.
Mrs. Harry Conoly was unanimously elected a member of the club, and she was gladly received as one of our members.
Visitors. Mrs. J. G. Oltorf, Mrs. D. R. Powell and Miss Mary Burkhead of Waco; Miss Lee, of San Angelo; Miss Davis, Marshall; Miss Ross of Houston, Mrs. Giles of Mineola, Mrs. Dupree and Miss Wright.
Interesting games and amusements were indulged in and were greatly enjoyed.
The hostess served delicious refreshments consisting of cream and cake.
The club will meet next with Mrs. McKnight.
