KENTUCKY'S PRIDE
~~~~~
As stated sometime ago W. J. Fredde
of this place went to Kentucky for the purpose of purchasing a stallion for a
company here. He has just returned with one of the very best that could be
bought in Kentucky. He was instructed when he left here to buy the best, or
none.
Mr. Fredde is a man with a wide reputation for selecting such stock, having
handled them all of his life and all of the stockholders express themselves as
being well pleased with their purchase. Mr. Fredde visited all of the prominent
stock farms around Paris, Mt. Sterling, Richmond, Winchester, Springtown, and
Georgetown and says he saw at least one hundred head of stallions while gone,
and they ranged in price from$500 to $5000. He said: "I bought the best one I
saw, for I thought the best was none too good for the people of Falls county."
The stockholders met at the Marlin National Bank and
organized what is known as the "Marlin Horse Company" and elected the following
officers for the year: R. A. Reed, president; C. T. Curry, secretary and
treasurer; W. J. Fredde, manager.
The stockholders are as follows: R. A. Reed, L. W.
Goodrich, J. A. Gordon, Viridet and Barton, J. B. Mires, W. D. Kyser, C. T.
Curry, S. N. Donohoo, W. J. Fredde. These men are all well known
throughout the county are interested in good stock and any statement or
representation made by them can be relied upon.
