NEGRO INTERFERES WITH CHURCH CELEBRATION FINED

     Eugene Armstead and Abraham Anderson are charged in the county court with having made assaults (sic) during the Christmas festivities at a negro church on Lover's Lane. Abraham Anderson, charged with assault on Jim Willie, pleaded guilty Monday and was assessed a fine. The other negro is out on bond and his case has not been settled.
   

     The negroes were arrested on complaint made by a member of the church, who was asking for protection whereby the Christmas service could be carried on at the church without interference.
