DIDN'T WANT MAMA TO KNOW

Something of a romantic marriage took place today at 12:30 in this city, a youthful but good looking couple from the country being the contracting parties.
For reasons that will develop later, perhaps, an effort was made to keep the fact of the marriage a secret for the present - the desire being that not even the girl's mother should know of it for several months.
The bride was pretty, the groom a handsome young man. Both seemed proud of their marriage and prouder still that they had succeeded in keeping the matter quiet - as they thought.
When located over the telephone by the DEMOCRAT, the groom who was just preparing to take his bridal luncheon at one of the hotels, insisted most earnestly that the matter be kept out of the paper - and although the whole story is a legitimate news item, yet we shall, in deference to "Love's Young Dream," with - hold the names of the parties and the incidents surrounding the elopement.
