LOTT.

       R. P. Watts will begin the erection of a new building soon.

       H. R. Seward and wife who have been away for some time have returned.

       J. Ritchey has received a pair of fine blood hounds from his brother in Hillsboro.  He has had several exciting races in which a colored man played a leading part.  The dogs never failed to tree the "coon."

       Rev. W. A. Jarrell of Dallas, the pastor of the Lott Baptist church is spending a week here with the members of his flock.

       The weather continues dry and cold; the candidate that will send us a rain has a "cinch" on anything that he wants.

       Quite a sad death occurred in our little city since the last writing.  Little Burney, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Wooley was called up higher.  Burney was a bright little boy and has many friends who sympathize with the bereaved parents.

       The ladies of the Methodist church will give an old time supper at the McCall brick on Wednesday night February 12.

       Mrs. Alice Cain has been on the sick list several days.
