LOTT.

       The Lott Rifles left Monday morning for the State encampment.  A large crowd of friends were at the train to bid them God's speed, and--well some of the girls looked susiciously near crying.

       The Fat and Lean base ball game last Wednesday was a hummer. The Leans won by three scores.  It was the most enjoyable event of the season.

       C A Cox of Durango was here several days last week attending meeting.

       Bro Chism of the Christian church closed a very interesting meeting Sunday night.

       Will Mann of Mart is visiting here this week.

       The school trustees have let the contract for a new room to the school building.

       J H Miller of Travis visited here this week.

       Joe Lawless of Coleman county visited relatives here this week.

       Ezra McCall of Norman, I T., is visiting friends here.

       Lott has a sneak thief who is plundering the smoke houses and clothes lines.  Several fine hams have been stolen:

       Frank Davis of Rosebud visited here this week.

       Miss Dicie Strother of Dot is visiting here.

       Mrs. Ethel Williams and Miss Vevia Knox visited in Marlin this week.

       J F Paiest has been on the jury in Marlin for several days.

       Miss Pearl Hodges Sponcer (sic) for the Lott Rifles is attending the encampment.

       Mrs. Annie Seward is after an extended visit in North Texas.

       Quite a number of Lott's young people attended the Holiness meeting at Durango Saturday night.

       Miss Carrie Hodges and Maggie Rouse visited Marlin last week.

       Our farmers are complaining considerably about the boll worm.
