GETS 25 YEARS FOR KILLING FATHER.

 

    Belton, Tex., Dec 19.--The jury in the case of the State against J. H. Connell, charged with murder, brought in a verdict of guilty of murder in the second degree and assessed his punishment at twenty-five years in the penitentiary.

    Connell killed his father in May last stabbing him with a pocket knife.

 

    The case of the State against Dr. S. M. Jenkins, charged with murder, brought here on change of venue from McLennan county, which was set for trial yesterday, was continued until the next term of the court by the state.
