The DEMOCRAT has about decided to establish a legal department that will make a specialty of grinding out opinions on the Terrell election law. If we add this department our fees shall be as follows: $20.00 for each opinion, one half to be paid before the opinion is asked and the
other half before it is delivered. The opinions will be a la horse back and will be guaranteed to stand until they are reversed by some higher authority.

Marlin has experienced probably the quietest election within the history of the town.
The crowds of people, white and black, that formerly congregated around the polls were conspicuous by their absence all during the day. The distance markers and instruction cards were hung up at the 100 foot limit and the guard rails established so as to block the entrance to the polling place and all the voter has to do is to go to the window, present his credentials, call for a ballot, vote it and go on about his business.
The days of log rolling around election polls in Texas are over. The Terrell election law has done the work. It has come to stay.
