MRS. DUNKUM'S CARD PARTY.

Mrs. J. A. Dunkum entertained at cards Tuesday afternoon.  Her guests consisted of a large number of special friends. The occasion was in honor of Miss Garrett, sister of Mrs. Dunkum.
The palatial of this popular lady was the scene of overflowing pleasure of the jolly assemblage a good time seemed to be the one thought, and pent-up feeling was in evidence.
Time passed by far too swiftly, and the departing time received no welcome, coming as it did, seemingly all too soon.
Progressive euchre was the game, and it was lively and interesting from beginning to the close.  The prizes, offered were rare and appropriate. The first prize fell to Miss Peyton, a dainty drawn work center piece. Miss Kessee, of Waco, in a cut, drew the consolation prize, a beautiful picture.  Mrs. Rimes won the "booby" a bottle of "Sunshine cuts."
As the guests arrived they were received by Mrs. Dunkum and Miss Garrett and conducted to the punch bowl at the rear of the hall, the contents of which were both delicious and refreshing.
Exquisite refreshments followed the other pleasures of the afternoon and were heartily enjoyed by all partakers.
The following were present: Mrs. Bertrand, Harlem; Mrs. Dick Jackson, Mexia; Miss Courts, Galveston; Miss Burt, Temple; Miss Lee, San Angelo; Miss Keese, Waco; Miss Ross, Houston; Miss Willie Davis, Reagan; Miss Threadgill, Waco; Miss Larimer, Fort Worth; Misses Chilton, Alice Goodrich, Wright, Owen, Clarkson, Marion Clarkson, Foster, Bartlett, Mamie Bartlett, Ida Martin, Finks, Bronson, Peyton, Sallie Peyton, Smith, Battle, McClendon, Watson, Mesdames Rimes, Gunnell, Keese, Gardner, Ramsey, Will and Walter Allen, Brown, Reeves, Robinson, Earl Smith, Robertson, Willett Foster, Shelton, Mose Levy, Hutchings, Charlie and Henry Rush, Wright, Bowden, Charlie Oltorf, Marrone, McBride, Goodrich, Chambers, B.
