DIRECTORS MEETING.

     The board of directors of the Marlin Public Library association held their regular monthly meeting Tuesday afternoon July 12th, in the library room. It was a very enthusiastic meeting, the members rejoicing in the result of the library contest with the acquisition of the Merchant's Gift Library, the Marlin Public Library contains over 406 volumes.
     A motion was made and carried that the principal of the public schools be allowed to register for such surplus books of reference as he desires for use of the school during the entire session. The librarian to retain receipt for period of nine months instead of two weeks as applicable to other books. This is a temporary arrangement.
     The librarian was elected a member ex-officio of the board.
     The secretary reported quite an increase in members since last meeting.
     President Dunkum announced the following committees to serve during the year:
     Book committee: - B. C. Nettles, chairman: Mrs. W. M. Gunnell, Miss Martin, Mrs. L. A. Robinson, Mr. J. W. Bartlett.
     Finance: - Dr. L. P. Robertson, chairman: Mrs. Gardner, Mrs. B. J. Linthicum, Mrs. T. A. Cheeves, Mrs. E. M. Levy.
     On membership: - Mrs. H. B. Kessee, chairman, Mrs. W. W. Allen, Mrs. Lily Levi, Miss Mary Goodrich, Mrs. D. S. Eddins, Mrs. W. H. Allen, Mrs. S. H. Johnson, Mrs. A. J. Smith, Mrs. A. O. Bowdon, Mrs. J. A. Dunkum.
     Arrangement: - L. E. Allen, chairman; Mrs. Mollie Bartlett, Mrs. Bolivar Nettles, Miss M. Frank, George H. Carter.
