MEETING OF FALLS COUNTY CHAPTER.
The social feature of the meeting of the Falls County Daughters of the
Confederacy wee great, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Battle Thursday
afternoon. Following is the program of the music and reading:
The subject of the contest was a
'Foral--Romance.
1. Consolation--Medleshon's Mrs. F.
M. Burkhead.
2. Reading Night and Day, (By Sidney
Lanier) Mrs. L. E. Allen.
3. Vocal Solo--If I Wore a Rose, Miss
Susie Battle.
4. Hostess distributed beautiful
handpainted programs, suggestive of St. Valentine's reign.
5. What was her nationality and
appearance? (American Beauty.)
6. What was his disposition and name
(Sweet William.)
7. How did he offer himself (As'ter)
8. To whom did she refer him?
(Poppy.)
9. What did the bride wear on her
head? (Bridal wreath.)
10. What did he wear for the last time?
(Bachelor Button.)
11. How many attended the ceremony.
(Phlox.) flocks.
12. At what time did they take the train?
(Four O'clock.)
13. What animals did they see when they
visited the managerie?
(Tiger

Mrs. J. W. Bartlett won the prize--a
beautiful pyrograph frame.
After this the chapter adjourned to meet
next with Mrs. J. W. Bartlett.
Much praise is due the charming young
hostess, Miss Susie Battle for the pleasures enjoyed.
