    In district court the case of B. J. Goff vs Prince Wilson was called and the jury secured.  The case was then reset for Jan. 21 to allow amendment to petition.  

    The case of Milton Foster vs I. & G. N., a suit for damages, the case went off on defendants general demurrer and plaintiff gave notice of appeal.

    In the suit of Ed. Pierson et all vs E R P Glass at al, judgment was entered for defendant.

    In the case of the First National bank of Rosebud vs the Phoenix of London Insurance company, a suit to recover $3000, a compromise was effected by which the company pays $2,250.00 and the suit was stopped.

    In the case of McBee vs Sheriff Greer of Falls and Sheriff Rushin of Robertson, a suit for damages for alleged false imprisonment, a compromise has been suggested by plaintiff's attorney, but will not be considered by the Falls county sheriff and so far as known here not by the Robertson county sheriff.

    The following civil cases have been disposed of in district court:

    Stallworth vs Anheuser-Bush, judgement by agreement.

    B. F. Sikes vs E. Hall, dismissed.

    K. Sewall vs F. B. Sewall, partition commissioner's report adopted as judgment of court.

    A. E. Watson vs J. L. and N. E. McDonald, judgment by default with foreclosure of vendor's lien.

    B. C. Clark vs W. T. Fannin et al, debt and foreclosure, judgment by default against D. S. Arnold and judgment against W. T. Fannin with foreclosure for amount sued for.

    Exparte A. Scott to remove disabilities, granted.

    The case of Julius Runge vs jumbo Cattle Company was continued until next term in district court.

    The jury in the damage case of Wm. Taylor vs S. A. & A. P. railway company, after being out two days brought in a verdict for the defendant company.

    The case of the Forst national Bank of Rosebud vs Phoenix Insurance Company of London is on trial in district court.  This suit is for the collection of an insurance policy on a gin at Travis held by the bank as collateral to secure a debt due the bank.

    R. T. Dennis, J. W. Hale, J. R. Terrell and W. O. Wilkes of Waco visited Marlin Sunday in an automobile.. THis is a first class method for the citizens of the Indian village to adopt to visit Marlin frequently to partake of the life preserving waters here.

    Lost -- Reward-- One heavy gold watch with engraving "HT" on outside of back.. The face has gold colored figures instead of Roman latters.  Hands are also gold.  Lost on R. C. Peacock's place, known as W. P. Marlin farm.  Will pay $10 for return to me or to R. C. Peacock.

    Chief Nettles has appointed C. T. Curry, L. E. Allen and B. C. Billingsley as the committee to take in hand the street sprinkling matter and to act as a special finance committee of the department in accordance with the motion adopted at the meeting Thursday night.

    The school children of Marlin want to save the Alamo and have contributed the sum of $43 for that purpose.  We doubt if there are many schools in Texas in towns no larger than Marlin that will do better than this.
