County News.

       In a difficulty at Widerville (sic) Saturday evening Duke Hudson shot J. J. Taylor through the arm, inflicting a painful, though not serious wound.

       Cards are out announcing the marriage of Prof. J. S. Lamar, of Temple and Miss Maggie Whiteside, of Travis, which will take place at the residence of the bride's parents Sept 9.

       Charley Walker, a well known young man of Travis, died last
Wednesday morning.  The young man was ill some time and it was found necessary to have an operation performed, but the disease had gained such headway that the physicians abandoned it.

       Lloyd, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. M. N. Hitt, who reside near the city, died Thursday evening and the remains were interred in Woodland cemetery Friday afternoon.  The bereaved parents have the sympathy of everyone in their sad bereavement.

       The many friends of Miss Lilly Buckley, of this city, will be pleased to learn of her marriage to Mr. O. F. Boyd of Lubbock, Texas, which took place at Ft. Worth, on Tuesday, August 26.  Both bride and groom have many friends in this section who will be glad to hear of the happy event.

       Stephen Kozlosky, a Bohemian farmer who resides near the city, while under the influence of liquor, was struck by a train on the San Antonio & Aransas Pass road last Wednesday and terribly injured.  At first it was thought that his wounds would prove fatal but the physicians now think he will recover.

       Mrs. S. M. Terry, of Barclay, died very suddenly Monday morning. She was taken ill Sunday evening and grew rapidly worse until about 10 o'clock, when death resulted.  She was a most estimable lady and her death is deeply regretted.  Her remains were interred in the Beulah cemetery Tuesday evening.  She leaves a husband, three children and a host of friends to mourn her loss.

       Sam Perryman and wife, a colored couple who live on the R W Ellison, farm, have certainly obeyed the command to multiply and replenish the earth.  They have had born to them during their thirty-six years of married life, thirty children, of whom six are dead, seven married and seventeen are now at home.  Their eldest daughter is married and has eleven children.

       Mrs. Sallie Stillwell, a most estimable lady of this section, died at the residence of Mrs. W. T. Stillwell Sunday night.  De was one of the pioneers of Falls county, and was beloved by all that knew her.  She leaves a large number of relatives and friends to mourn her loss and to them we offer our condolence.  Her remains were interred at Powers Chappel (sic) cemetery Monday evening, a large concourse of sorrowing friends witnessing the last sad rites.--Rosebud News.
