     The matter of repairing certain culverts previously referred to left with street committee.
     Alderman Fannin reported repairing of sidewalk east of Masonic building.
     Street commissioner granted further time in which to have repairs made in cemetery.
     Petition of G. W. Simmons for opening street in northwestern portion of city withdrawn.
     Committee to have trees planted around hot well reported compliance with order.
     On motion of Cousins E. A. Behringer was allowed use of portion of city lot now occupied by him for business purposes in consideration of his looking after shade trees and well and that secretary refund $2 paid in on March.
     Mayor reported certain sanitary work done at city scavenger yard and that same was now practically inoffensive. Also that he had notified the public through papers to discontinue practice of placing trash etc on streets, alleys and other public places. Also that he had compiled with the order requesting him to hire three extra teams and deivers to work on the streets of Marlin.
     On motion of Cousins, seconded by Allen it was ordered that sidewalk be constructed from west end of M. D. Williams property to Central railway and that Nash, Robinson & Co., be required to move what property owned by said company off the line and encumbering said sidewalk, and to comply with the general terms of the ordinance governing such matters. Further, that railway company be instructed to construct foot bridge connecting with same when finished.
     Mayor instructed to issue proclamation for an election to be held on April 5 for city marshal, assessor and collector, treasurer and one alderman for each ward.
     City Health Officer Sewall reported a number of cases small pox in the city. This matter is now receiving attention from proper officers.
     I. L. Peterson and Dr. Dupree addressed the council in protest against parties having small pox being permitted to remain at R. L. Martin's, except actual members of the family. Drs. Rice, Allen and others spoke on the small pox situation in Marlin, all saying there was no need for alarm.
     Petitions presented by H. G. Carter asking for damages to several head of stock, said damages alleged to have been inflicted to said cattle while being driven to pound pen. Allowed $12 after hearing statement of Harry Dupny.
     On motion of Cousins it was ordered that the street commissioner present account against all parties, whose sidewalks were graveled by City for amount, at rate of 40 cents per load.
     Ordered that the pest house now in use be cleaned up find also that two-room box house, rooms 14x14 be erected for use of white persons. McComb, Cousins and Fannin appointed committee to supervise same.
     Mayor requested to ask I & G N officials to construct bridge over gulch near ice plant.
     City attorney authorized to use what measures he deems proper in collection of taxes due by Herald Shoe Co.
     City health officer requested to meet with school board and urge them to adopt compulsory vaccination among school children, at expense of parents.
     Tax collector instructed to present account against Nash, Robinson & Co., for rent due.
     City attorney instructed to institute proceedings against all parties in arrears for convict bonds.
     A rebate of $25 was allowed J. G. Oltorf on taxes due for 1903.
     Reports of officers examined and approved.
