FOR MARLIN'S NEW SCHOOL BUILDING.

Is To Cost The Sum of $23,200.

The Marlin school bord let a contract Monday afternoon for the construction of
the new school building. The contract price is $23,200 and the successful
bidder is H. Golbraith of Milford.
It will be equipped with all modern
conveniences and applicances for the adaptability to the purposes for which it
is to be used. The entire building is planned for the comfort, convenience
and expediency of a modern school and college building.
It is a source of mental relief to the
citizens of Marlin to know that this important matter has at last been settled.
It was a long time coming, but in the time worn vernacular "'Tis better late
than never."
The City Council had recently transferred
to the school board all its claims and responsibilities in connection with the
school building and cash on hand to the amount of $14,000. This was done
after the council had made two unsuccessful attempts to secure a contract for
the construction of the building desired at a cost of $20,000.
The school board has added a little more to
the price and the matter of contract is now settled.
The building will be of pressed brick and
slate roof, an improvement over the original plans.
The construction of the building will be
under the direct supervision of Mr. Glenn Allen, the well known architect, of
Waco, who drew the plans and specifications.
