Arrangements were about completed Saturday afternoon for the location of the cotton compress on the plot of land in the "Y" between the two railroads, owned by the city, known as the public school ground provided the council ratifies.
The compress representatives Messrs McNiel and Brock were out Saturday looking for a location again and were accompanied by superintendent L A Daffin of the Central Railway and Mayor Shelton and a number of the citizens committee.
The ground was pretty thoroughly gone over and the conculsion (sic) was arrived at that the ground in question was the one that the compress people wanted.
