CARNIVAL PROGRAM.
-----
Thursday and Friday Are Big Days.
-----

The first half of the carnival week is at an end and the results seem satisfactory to the visitors and to the people.
The attendance has been good from the beginning and has increased with each day.  The visitors have all been pleased with their entertainment.  This is especially true with regard to veterans' day.  The program was carried out to a nicety.  The veterans and other guests of the city were simply delighted.  The speaking by Capt. Shaw and Congressman Henry has been highly complimented by those who heard it.  The dinner was great.  The meats were fine and well cooked and there was enough dinner for two such crowds, and it was no smallt (sic) either.  The people from the country went away praising Marlin and those in charge of the day.  But to the program for the remainder of the week:
Thursday, Sept. 18, will be Waco, Bryan and Calvert.  The Woodmen parade and exercises will be an extensive affair.  They will be here from every camp in the county.  Their procession will be a long one, including many floats, degree teams, head officers, etc.  Speaking by the head officers, music, comics, et.  Pleasure for everyone.
Friday, Sept. 19, Marlin day.  This is going to be the biggest day of all if possible and those who fail to come to Marlin will miss a great treat. Marlin will have on its Sunday clothes.  Flower and merchant's parade. Decorated floats of many designs representing every line of business.  A grand pageant, a full day of carnival, a jolly time for all.  Awarding of prizes for the best decorated vehicle, float, horse and bicycle; crowning of Queen Nilrami; winding up with grand carnival ball at the hotel de Arlington.
Saturday, September, 20.  Closing day.  Rest up.  Swap yarns  Listen to music.  Come again.
