Branson now has his press brick machine in operation. This machine has a
capacity of 20,000 bricks per day and is located at the yard south of town near
the I & G N railway. Before purchasing the machine Mr. Branson sent a
sample of his clay to a factory at St. Louis and had them make some specimen
bricks. The St. Louis factory pronounced the clay excellent and made some
high grade brick from it.
