BRADFORD MIMS.
-----
Claims to be One Hundred and Two
Years of Age.
-----

Bradford Mims, of Mart, who has been in jail at Waco for several weeks has been released on his own recognizance.  The charge against him was assault with intent to kill, but the circumstances as shown by the evidence show that Mims only shot in the air to scare the man upon whom it is alleged that he made the assault.
Mims is quite a local character.  He claims to be 102 years old.  He is a veteran of the Mexican and civil war.  He is a very small man and is feeble.  He is a well digger by profession and he cannot talk unless he is flat on his back.  His constant companion is a little sorrel pony and a Winchester rifle.  The impediment in his speech was caused by an arrow recieved (sic) in a fight with the Indians many years ago.
