In Habeas Corpus Hearing.
-----

Charley Woodall, white, charged with killing Charley Hackbery (or Smith) at Lott some time since, had a habeas corpus hearing before his honor Judge S. R. Scott at Waco on Wednesday.
Woodall was represented by the firm of Rice & Bartlett and the state by her county attorney F. M. Boyles, Esq.
The defendant had an examining trial before Justice T. H. Ligon of Lott, about two weeks ago and was, by Mr. Ligon, remanded to jail without bail.
He applied by writ of habeas corpus and the writ was granted returnable to Waco on Wednesday April 9.
The defendant's attorneys took the position that it was a bailable case and the state's attorney contested this view.
The court heard a number of witnesses and the arguments of counsel and remanded the defendant to bail in the sum of $5,000.00.
