BLIND NEGRO ROBBED.
-----
Blind Gus, an aged negro,
who can scarcely see his way to walk was relieved of $5.00 in cold cash
Wednesday by a negro woman known by the ephoneous name of "Switch Engine."
"Blind Gus," who makes his living by
cutting wood and doing other chores for the white folks, had laid down for a nap
and had placed the money which was in silver under his pillow where it was
discovered by the woman and appropriated to her own use.
The matter was reported to Sheriff Carlton
and the arrest of the woman followed. All but sixty cents of the money was
recovered from the woman.
