ITEMS OF INTEREST FROM TEMPLE OF JUSTICE.

    An application for a habeas corpus hearing has been made by the attorneys for Maggie Foy and Charlotte Massey, charged with killing Eliza Thomas near Stranger.  The defendants were committed without bail by Judge Allen of Precinct No. 2, before whom the examining trial was held.  The habeas corpus hearing will be by Judge Frank Boyles, and he has set the hearing for Saturday.

 

    Permission was granted to Edward Kunkle and Elmer Schneider to enter the state of matrimony by Clerk W. C. Rogers.

 

    A deed of trust has been filed with the county clerk covering the property of the Exporters & Traders Compress Co., located in this city.  The instrument is to secure the payment of $155,000, borrowed to be used in developing the business.

 

    Joe Moore plead guilty to abusive language and got $5.00 and the trimmings in Judge Frazier's court.

 

    In the case of Baden vs Moore, a suit brought for $30, the court held that the suit was wrongfully brought and entered a judgment for the defendant which includes the costs and $25 damages.

 

    Constable Theo. Peeples went to Italy Tuesday on business.

 

    A motion for a new hearing will be heard Saturday in the Baden-Moore case.
