MARLIN
Marlin.--A very interesting program was given at the Marlin Baptist Church
Friday night for Mrs. Roana Bennet aiding her in her missionary work. E.
L. Wilson is on the sick list. Richard E. Bailey is being honored with a
farewell party this week by O. L. Lights; Mr. Bailey is leaving soon for
California. Dr. S. L. Chandlers is improving afte (sic) a few days of
confinement. Mrs. Rosa Harper and family were called to Brenham Sunday to
the funeral of her niece. Services were good at St. Paul A.M.E. Church and
well attended; Rev. I. D. Coffee preached a wonderful sermon. The pastor
and family were surprised with a pound party Thursday night; Rev. Coffee says
that the members can surprise them again.--Harry Nelson, Reporter.
