MARLIN

Marlin.--Dr. and Mrs. Williams, Dr. and Mrs. Radford, Mrs. Dorsey, Mrs. A. E. S. Johnson and Miss Alberta Lewis gave Dr. and Mrs. E. R. Nelson a New Year's surprise party Saturday night.  Dr. and Mrs. Nelson were charmed beyond words.  Mrs. Radford entertained with a matinee party Wednesday.  All the ladies were gowned in beautiful dresses.  Every one enjoyed the evening.  Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey gave a New Year's party Friday night.  Dr. and Mrs. Williams spent Christmas day in Calvert.  Mrs. A. L. Hunter spent the holidays in Houston.  Marlin received the New Year with lots of resolutions hoping it will bring happy days.  The weather was bad Sunday, however, services were well attended.  The watch meetings were well attended New Year's Eve night and enjoyed by all.  Prof. and Mrs. Hall are the proud parents of a baby girl.  School opened and everybody is ready to settle down after the holidays.--Harry Nelson, Reporter.
